Instruments:  Guitar, Vocals
Hometown: Hoquiam, WA
Random Fact:  Jake was a Jazz band geek! Playing the trumpet, bass guitar, bassoon, and euphonium.

Jake, a man who answers also the name of Ian, just to confuse you.  This six-string samurai grew up in the sister cities near the coast in Kurt Cobain County.  Jake moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington where he dropped out after two years in typical Hard Rock fashion.   Jake came to meet The Adarna through BandMix.com.  They got chatting, they got jamming, and they found it was a great fit, and Jake was invited to join the band.  Jake has a real passion for music and trying to capture what first inspired him to want to make music.

Jake Ian Lord on Guitar for The Adarna

"I found myself at an Angels & Airwaves concert and was in awe of the amount of energy both within the crowd and exuding off of the band on thestage.  Looking around and seeing how personal the crowd was taking the music made me realize that I needed to get on the stage!  Music has always been my greatest passion and I want to not only spread that passion with the world but reach people in the same way I felt inspired that night.
I started playing guitar when I was around 12 years old. One of my friends in middle school had a guitar and was showing me how to play some Nirvana riffs. We went to the Experience Music Project in Seattle, which is now called the Museum of Pop Culture. This really shaped my love for the artwork behind how guitars can look and sound. That same day I heard  "Holy Wars: The Punishment Due" by Megadeth and I was floored at how fast they could play and still sound so melodic. I was hooked. I met another friend who was also in to Megadeth and we started learning songs together and writing music of our own.  I've been playing ever since."
Jake spends most of his time writing music, building up his multi-instrument collection, and learning how to play every instrument he can get his hands on.  We're excited to have him be part of The Adarna's arsenal!  You can keep in touch and learn more about Jake below or you can check out his Metal band, Swamp Church!
